1)    Communicate with your partner.

2)    Know the tendencies of the other team you are playing and keep mental notes.

3)    Watch the set to gauge the hitter’s options

4)    Hide behind the blocker until the hitter takes his eyes off you, then make your move.

5)    Anticipate, don’t react!

6)    Keep your weight forward, don’t sit back on your heels.

7)    Don’t worry about perfect form or footwork; just get the ball any way you can.

8)    Take away the hitter’s good and no so good shots; leave his great shot open.

9)    Get the ball up as high as possible when you are making the dig.

10)    After you dig the ball focus on converting.
